Dozens, hundreds, thousands of miners are heading out of the shaft to get to their station at the depths of the mine. Forwards, backwards, they go up and down again...
GLORY HOLE addresses the question of the carnal and spiritual relationship that some miners nurtured towards the ground from which they would extract coal or iron. In Moselle, many galleries were named after women, and a lot of mineworkers would refer to 'their gallery" as if talking about a real entity.
